Local Performances, Workshops & Ukulele Events


Friday, December 15, 2017:


The SLO Strummers will once again entertain the residents of the Manse on Marsh Street in San Luis Obispo with a holiday performance.


Saturday, May 19, 2018:


The Grover Beach Ukulele Festival will be moving to a different venue at the Arroyo Grande Heritage Park from noon to 3:00 pm.


Friday, June 1, 2018:


The SLO Strummers will be featured at the Noon Brown Bag Concert at the Presbyterian Church in downtown San Luis Obispo. Details will be announced later.


Sunday, June 3, 2018:


Musician/Instructor Del Rey will be returning to San Luis Obispo for a 3:00 pm concert at the San Luis Obispo Museum of Art, followed by a ukulele workshop for local players at 5:00 pm.

Ukulele Lessons

Nancy Piver, SLO Strummers Musical Director, recently returned from the James Hill Ukulele Initiative Teacher Certification Course in Vancouver, B.C. Having completed Level 1 of the 3-year program, she will be accepting a few adult students for private lessons in San Luis Obispo. Richard Simpson will be teaching another set of UKULELE CLASSES in South County starting in January 2018 through the Grover Beach Recreation Department. A beginning-level Introduction to the Ukulele class will be held Tuesday afternoons at the Trouville Community Center starting January 9. A continuing level III Jazzy Standards ukulele class will be held Tuesday afternoons starting January 23. Click HERE for more information or to register on the Grover Beach Recreation Department web site.


Other Ukulele Classes are occasionally offered through the San Luis Obispo Adult School, Cuesta College or local music stores.
